Good dental health involves more than just brushing your teeth twice per day. To keep your teeth and mouth as healthy as they can be for a lifetime of use there are many activities that can be performed. The first thing you should probably do is to talk with your dentist about any special conditions that you might have and the many ways that your general medical health can affect the health of your teeth and your mouth. There are a multitude of medical conditions that can negatively impact your oral health and may require a change in the way you currently care for your oral hygiene. Always make sure to inform your dentist if you have experienced a change in your overall general health or there has been a change in any of the medications that you are currently taking since your last visit.
